The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has recorded another major success in its ongoing counter-terrorism campaign after precision air strikes destroyed terrorist enclaves and neutralised several fighters in Borno State.
According to the NAF, the operation was carried out on Friday, July 10, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, targeting a terrorist enclave at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, said the operation followed credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activity and the concentration of fighters in the area.
He explained that intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before precision air strikes were launched.
The strikes reportedly destroyed terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several terrorists, further weakening their ability to regroup and operate.
Commenting on the operation, Sunday Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff, praised the personnel involved for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustained offensive operations against terrorist groups.
He stated that the Air Force would continue to work closely with ground forces to hunt down, disrupt and eliminate terrorist elements wherever they seek refuge, stressing that terrorists would be denied any safe haven or opportunity to rebuild their capabilities.
The NAF added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain committed to consolidating the gains already achieved in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign across the country.
