Spain youngsters Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí have joined an exclusive list of football greats after helping their country win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The two 19-year-olds featured as Spain edged Argentina 1-0 after extra time in Sunday’s final at the New York New Jersey Stadium, securing the nation’s second World Cup title.
Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in extra time to hand La Roja a memorable victory after a tense 120-minute contest.
According to Opta, Yamal and Cubarsí became only the fourth and fifth teenagers in history to start a FIFA World Cup final and finish on the winning side.
